One of the most prestigious music, technology and film festivals in the world, South by Southwest Festival showcased for the very first time in its 31-year history, Chinese tech innovations with its partner from China, GeekPark.
A technology community featuring the best of Native Chinese companies, GeekPark selected seven start-up companies to come to Austin from China, and to explore new possibilities. The China Gathering featured three panels, a dedicated area at the show floor of SXSW and a reception during 2017 SXSW. The panel’s topic focused on how Chinese technology influences and creates new trends and innovations as part of the global community.
SXSW officials have recognized GeekPark’s presence at a festival as an international expansion for the future of the interactive track of the convention. “With more and more companies going global, GeekPark aims to raise visibility and recognition of the growth and impact of technology, products and innovations from China on the worldwide community” said Mr. Peng Zhang the CEO and founder of GeekPark.
China's Internet and technology has developed to a point where it got the world's attention. The showcase at SXSW is a chance for the voices of Chinese innovators to be heard and to build a strong foundation so that in the future more Chinese innovators and companies can be presented at SXSW.
Of the 2017 speaking companies, six of them were represented on the SXSW show floor from March 12th to March 15th: GeekPark, Zhihu, Baofeng, Mojing, Philm, OneThingTechnology, and Mobvoi.
